ok, i have a 305 tbi that bit the dust, i found a 350 for kinda cheap but it says it was a tpi, does that make a difference when all im doing is just tossing the intake and crap onto another engine? or would i have to do that tbi/tpi swap? also does anyone know a site that sells cheap rebuilt 350's? thanks

 

You can keep the TBI without much hassle. You will NEED 350 injectors (65pph) and you'll want to start off with a L05 caprice chip and go from there. You might want to think about an aftermarket intake as well.

 

do you happen to know how much the injectors are? i just got married, and well...money is kind of tight, and is it just the injectors needed for the tbi? and whats the point of the caprice chip? why not just get the stock one, is it better?

 

The 350 injectors run around $200 or a little less. Call some local parts stores and the dealer to find out for sure. you may be able to find some on ebay for much cheaper. You need them to prevent you engine from running lean. Even if you bump the fuel pressure all the way up on the 305 injectors, chances are it won't be enough. As far as a 350 chip goes, it will better match the characteristics of the 350. If you're interested in an inexpensive way to purchace a custom chip, check out http://www.tbichips.com. He will work with you, is very communative, and great to do business with. He may have a chip already tuned for an L98 as well. If not, I'm sure he can get an L05 chip for you and go from there.
