The old 305 to 350 swap
The old 305 to 350 swap
Hello. I've got an 85 Camaro that I plan on swaping the 305 carbed LG4 for a carbed 350, and have a few questions. I did do a search and didn't find exactly what I was looking for (got some mixed answers).
My motor has the computer controled q-jet, and I think the computer controled timing advance (not too sure). I would like to elimnate all the computer stuff. I know that I'll have to wire a swith for the lock up converter. Will I be able to wire it up as shown here? https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...ueswitch.shtml If I elminate the ECM wouldn't I also be taking out the ALDL connector? If so how would I wire it up...with one of those kits from Summit or Jegs?
The 350 I plan on putting in, is comming from a late 70's 3/4 ton truck. Will I have to get any thing special for the swap? Will my gauges (well, idiot lights) still work?
When I take the computer and wiring out..is there anything I should be saving? Or should I just junk it all?
Thanks

you shouldnt have to get anything special other then a non cc carb and distributer. also, i kept my computer just so it will lock up the torque converter, its easier then wiring up a switch. all your gauges will still work.
