I didn't know where to post this so i figured it might go here.
are TBI units the same on a v8 as the V6?
lets say 4.3L V6 is the TB unit itself as a 5.0L TB unit?
my dad wants to put a 305 in his S-10 Blazer but wants to know if the TB unit is the same as one from a V8. the only reason he wants to dump in a 305 is cause he already has one that was rebuilt about 200 miles ago and its just sitting in his garage and his 4.3 is getting tired. we know about all the motor mounts and headers and stuff like that. he said if he can get an intake for TBI then thats all he would have to change, the 305 is out of a 86 or 87 Monte Carlo SS. we would have to get a ECM out of a V8 car right?I figured this would be the place to ask this type of question. any info on this would help us out alot thanks in advance...

Nope.. the 6 cylinder peice has a manifold that feeds only 6 cylinders, wereas the V8 peice feeds 8, so the manifold will not fit.

 

you will probably have to change your computer too....

Check out JTR publishing's S-10 V8 conversion manual... it's about $20... (you can buy them from summit racing)
