LT1 swap with a/c notch frame
I have a 92 RS with a 305 TBI and I have an LT1 from a 97 T/A. I am getting ready to do this swap does anyone have pics from where they used the a/c to notch the frame? Any tips or tricks? Thanks guys

sorry, no photos. Easiest way to do it is to drill a hole at the corner of the notch and use a sawzall to cut out the notch, then come back with 1/8 or 1/4 metal and weld back in. The way we did it was to lower the engine down till the a/c compressor was just touching the frame then measure the distance between the bolt holes on the engine mounts. Add a little bit to the distance and cut it out, then lower the engine back in to make sure it will clear with the pieces you add back in, weld it up, put some kind of paint on it to seal it, and you're done.

go to www.hpsalvage.com, click swap tips, scroll down a little less than halfway, itll be right under the 93-97 swap tips, where it sends you to a link that says swap tips on LT1 into an 82-92 F-Body, there they basically walk you through it and have some nice pics of what your trying to do, from a few angles i remember.
