Would like to get a TPI 350 in my 82
I'd like to get fuel injection in my 82 LG4 TA before the end of the summer, plus I want a 350. I was thinking the easiest was would be to get the engine package from here, a 5.7 TPI. I'm not sure if the engine needs a rebulid or not. Some concerns would be swaping fuel tanks and lines, trannys(because the LG4 is a two piece rear main, and the tpi is a one piece), and the wiring would be the main things. I was wondering what would make this change eaiser, faster, and cheaper.
that doesnt look like to bad of a deal....
i personnally would freshen up the engine before i put it in, but it all depends on money and the miles on the engine.
i think it would be a pretty easy swap, it says it has all the accesorys, wires, and computer, so wiring should be pretty easy.
You dont have to change trannys. you will have to use a one piece seal flywheel however (which might be included in the package, would have to check)
you probably would have to get a newer fuel pump, im not sure if the lines would have to be changed or not??
hope this helps
good luck

I just talked to them and they said both engines they have have 170 thousand miles in it. My dad said a rebulid would cost 2 grand. Now I'm like would it be a better idea to buy a crate motor and stick TPI on it.
