Question about a 406
I found a 406 online with a price that seems too good to be true. It appears to be very clean, very nice, pretty powerful and has a 13.5:1 compression ratio. Is this a race only engine. That is awefully high for any street car, but the block is only a 2 bolt main. Curious about it. It was supposedly out of an 11 second car.

Unless you intend to use race fuel or alcohol as a fuel, don't bother. Pump gas won't work in that engine. If it was built for a race car then dropping it into a daily driver is a waste of money.
There's nothing wrong with a 2 bolt block. It can be studded if strength is of any concern. My BBC is only 2 bolt (studs)

I guess that +1 difference is rather important. thanks though! The engine was going for under 1500 no reserve, it was tempting yet questionable Thread
