86 305 to 87 350 swap
86 305 to 87 350 swap
well hello again,
as you know i have been having some trouble with my 86 trans am / firebird 305...with a 5 speed tranny.
I own a 87 350 in a chevy van that needs rebuilding.
my question is,will the 87 350 bolt up to the 86 tranny...without any diifficulties or should i stick with the 305? I want to rebuild one or the other for the car..
thanks for some or any advice...

The '87 350 will bolt up to the '86 transmission with no trouble at all.
The '86 intake won't be a "no trouble" installation on the '87 heads. But, truck heads are terrible, anyway, so get a set of World S/R Torquers with 67cc chambers and '86-prior bolt pattern to put on top of your freshened, flat-top-pistons-with-new-cam 350.
