v6 to v8 question?

i wanna put a v8 in my car the v6 has 135,000 miles on it so i think its time for a new engine pretty soon. i just cant sell the car and go buy a new camaro because this car just means alot to me its been in the family it was my moms then my step dads and now its mine. i wanna drope in a carbed 350 without the computer but i dont think it can be done because of emisions. and i guess i'd have to go with a l98 or lt1.but i'd really like to just drope in a new crate engine. but agian how do i make it pass emisions???

Find a '92 donor car that came from the factory with a TPI V8. There is no such thing as "just drop in a new crate engine". You can put in the above-mentioned ZZ4 crate, but you need the donor car.

I have a similar problem. I have a v6 92 camaro that I've been working on the interior, ect. I also have a donor 305 TBI '92 camaro. No mechanic that I've heard of will do the engine swap, they say its too much trouble.

But what about a 350 TPI? Wouldn't that drop in much easier, since both the v6 and the 350 are fuel injected? What problems could I run in to? I don't have the equipment to do this myself, or the expertise....so I have to convince someone to do it with me.

you dont have inspections in florida so you can put what ever you want in there. i think it would be way harder to put a tpi 350 in than a carbed 350.
either way you have to change a bunch of crap including trans, ign.,fuel pump, and lots more.

i did this swap and i just get backyard type inspections. not every body can do this but the carbed swap was hard enough i wouldnt even try fooling with TPI

I have the v8 tranny, I also have a 350 block ready to be rebuilt with the tpi setup....I'm just trying to get the best I can with what I got. Time and Money are moderate concerns.
