LT1 into S10???
LT1 into S10???
Alright boys, i've got a theoretical question for ya. I've heard of a LT1 fit into a late model S10. What do you think? It's about time for a new project and i think that would be a lot of fun, if it's possible without much fabrication and metal removal. I know you can cram up to a 396 into an early 90's S10, seen that done, ran like an 8.5... I could obtain a 99 S10, 4 cylinder, auto for about 3,000. Do you think i could get the LT1, tranny, and all other needs for 5,500? I've got about 8500 available. Or would you just shrug this off as a joke, let me know all your opinions!!!
... check this out too if you've got a second.. this is kinda what i'm shootin for...never attached a file before so if it doesnt work out, just ignore it.

I would think you could get the engine and tranny for 5 grand. I've got a link to where you could buy one, but I'll have to post it when I get home in a couple hours.

sounds cool, looks cool, but how fast could it possibly be? ive driven a late model sonoma and it was extremly traction limited with lim slip and the stock 4.3.

I saw a sweet little S10 with a 350 in it at a car show last year. Externally, looked stock, except for the cowl hood and huge rear tires
said it ran low 12's, or something like that. It can be done, and has been done. Shouldn't be any more difficult than swapping one into, say, a Toyota pickup.

Now who would want to put a V8 in a Toyota pickup!

I am seriously considering this with my '94 S10. I've already got ZR1s on it...so they'd go together well.
Anyone have any, more specific, info regarding putting an LT1 or LS1 into a S10?
I've swapped an LT1 into a 3rd Gen twice...so the mechanics of it aren't difficult for me...but hints/tips always help.
