Complete 98' Vortec motor swap (SFI)
Hey,
I've been doing some searching and I'm not finding anything about swapping a vortec engine including the sfi injection setup. I have a friend who just totalled his 98 Z71 w/ the 350 vortec and could probably pick it all up for a few hundred dollars. I have a 92' RS w/ the L03. I know it would be easy to just change the TB and ECM and go with a throttle body but the sequential injection that the vortec motors used is a better setup i believe. (stock ~255hp) From what i've seen other than changing the fuel pump/lines to raise the pressure to around 55-60psi and getting connections to the engine it looks like a pretty straight forward swap.
Has anyone here done this and results/problems encountered???
Would this be worth pursuing or just go w/ the TBI until i could afford a complete Stealthram/tpi setup....????????????

its got the single big TB on the top with 8 injecttors right?
As long as you have the whole donor vehicle you should be ok. All the computer stuff will have to be switched over. Tearing the dash apart to get it all out may not be fun, but it's doable.
