305 TBI - 350 TPI Fuel Pump Question

I am planning to install a 350 TPI motor in my 88 IROC LO3 Car. The engine is alreayd out & I plan to remove the harness & computer etc this week.

I have been reading so many posts & somepeople say u have to remove the fuel pump & install the punp from the donor car, but I have read others that say the TBI fuel pump is the same?

Can someone let me know which is ture? Becuase if I have to remove it, I might as well drop the tnak this week to.

I havent found a donor car yet, but it will also be 1988 & newer...

just buy a new pump. The psi on the TPI is different than the TBI.
The TPI requires more. Get a GM pump for the TPI motor. Just tell them what year the motor is. Also make sure you replace the Hose in the tank that goes on the pump with high quality fuel line. I did the same swap and ended up pullin the tank to replace the little rubber hose. Man what a pita.

Just use quality parts and you shouldnt have to pull the tank again.

good luck.

I've done the swap. You must replace the TBI Pump with a tpi pump!!
