Swap Question

If I am swapping from TBI to Carb in my 91 RS and cut out all of the engine sensors, If I leave the computer controll in and remove the SES light, will it still lockup my torque convertor as normal? Thanks.

the computer uses the various sensors on the engine together to do a lot of things..one of which is the TC lockup. without all of that hooked up, you will be missing some information needed nto do that. what type of distributor are you using? because as far as i know, the ECM gets its data (as far as engine speed) from the distributor, then used that data to lockup the converter, as well as the data from the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) in the tailshaft of the tranny.

so...my bet is no. but maybe there is a loophole in the system that you can somehow get around.
