Lt1 T56 Throttle Cable Question.

OK...I finally have the Lt1 in and the t56 also. The car was originally carbed and now the throttle cable is too short. I thought I could use one from a '93 but now I'm not sure if that applies to me because of the T56. Is there some safe and secure way to add length to my current setup to reach the throttle body? I've tried searching and can't find anything that way. Thanks in advance.

I used a throttle cable from a TPI car, it works fine. I'm not sure of any safe/reliable ways to add length.

Trans Am#5, funny u should post this on. I ordered a used 93 throttle cable from hawkins(which i returned today w/ a 10% re-handling fee). The outter cable(the plastic that surrounds the cable itself) is the rigth lenght. But the cable is about 1.5" to long. So I ended up searching thru the junkyard and found a 91 TPI T/A which works best. At first I ordered the 93 thinking that the head on the 91-92 cable would not work. But after reading the web I found the GM throttle body from 93-97 is the same attachment from 91-92(in F and B bodies). Once I installed the 91 cable - all was well.

Another option (though not the cheapest) is to go with a Lokar braided stainless cable setup..

I welded the TB cable attachment plate from a TPI TB on to the LT1 TB shaft and used my original cable. Works great.
