i have a ? im getting ready to take my engine out and go with my 350 rebuilt to a 355ci aluminum heads port matched stock intake and 15/8" headers and a 3" exhaust what cam would be good i dont wanna throw the computer out of whack to much but i dont wanna loose power i am not buying a chip dont have the money right now what cam can i use?

The cam's really up to you. Do you want to go mild? Radical? What kind of powerband are you looking for? If I were you, I would talk to the tech guys at summit racing, they'll be more than happy, to help you out in choosing one.

Both Comp and Crane offer a few mild grinds that work with stock computers. I actually think these will work okay, but to get the most potential out of your engine, you really need to retune the PROM. Have you considered burning your own?
Comp Cams has one listing for a cam DESIGNED to work with the stock computer. Grind 262HR-12. Specs at 206/210 @.050 duration with .450/.480" lift, 112 LSA. According to their book, all the other cams require computer modification.
Again, if you increase the displacement, add better flowing heads, change injectors, lower temp t-stat, add a cam, headers, etc. All this stuff really requires computer recalibration in order to obtain the ultimate in drivablity, power, and mileage. You could use your stock chip, but it will leave something to be desired. Good luck.

well i guess i will have to get a custom prom i dont want to get in to burning proms myself no time for that i allready have some mods like AFPR,low fan switch and temnp etc.thanks for the cam suggestion i will see what it looks like on the dyno 2000.

i read all about it and i think its to much time to learn all of it if you want to burn one for me when i get the engine in thats cool but im not doin it.

it might not take long to burn, but to learn and get the stuff it will. I REALLY wana get into burning proms, cause im deff. gunna need one. Well for the cam question, if you wana keep your computer from flipping out, the ZZ4 cam is good, and if you wana keep going, the LT4 hot cam is awesome. If you plan on putting on 1.6 ratio rockers, then i sugest that the LT4 hot cam for you. good luck with the build! I know ill need it for this summer

thanks for the info man i like the hot cam im just worried that it may be to much cam? good luck with your engine to dude.
