TPI and LT1 throttle cable ?
I have a 87 T/A that had a L98 700R4 combo now it has a 97 LT1 and T56. What I need to know is if my throttle cable setup will work on this new combo.........Thanks

If l98 means TPI, then yes, it will work as long as all TPI cables are the same. I ordered a 90 TPI cable when I did my swap and it works perfectly.

Nope, won't work.I had to change my throttlecable. I had the 87 TPI cable and there is no easy way to get it to attach to the throttlebody.
I used a left over stainless steel one from my friends LT1 swap,

On second thought, maybe the hole in the 87 Cable can be enlarged and hooked to that one stub on the throttlebody.
I'll check it out tomorrow and see if I can get it to fit and if there is enough space to open the throttle all the way.

I'm using a 90 cable and it looks exactly like the one on my friends 87 TPI car. It WILL work but you have to file a tab on the throttle cable bracket. Then it should slide right in. Mine has been like this for the past month or so and it's been fine. For added piece of mind that I probably didn't need, I used a small peice of thin square metal and screwed it in on the bracket towards the opening to keep it locked in.
