Ok so after doing some research and asking around I found the engine I want and the place that sells it at a relatively good price. Today I found out that they only deliver to businesses and only to the ones that have loading/unloading bays and the equipment to take the engine from the truck. They do not deliver to terminals.

Is this typical with crate engine sales/delivery? How do people go about buying one of these things?

I was thinking of going to some shop and asking them to accept deliver and place it on S10 bed for some prearranged sum of money. Is this something doable?

 

I had mine shipped to a business and i know a friend of mine had a motor from Japan delivered to a common carrier near us, forget the company's name, and we loaded his up onto my truck from the company's loading dock. It will cost you, but as far as i know, they will not deliver to a residential address. good luck

 

It depends on the shipping company they use.. my engine was delivered to a residential address but it cost 125.00 more... they truck showed up with a pallet truck and moved it into the garage.. simple stuff funny that they make a big deal of it..

If they want your money they will find a workaround.. go somewhere else if they won't.

 

I bought one from autocenter (goautocenter.com)
It was delivered to a local freight depot.
Drove a pickup down there and their forklift put it right in the bed.
Used the cherry picker once I got it home.
