Need advice.....HELP!!!!!

Hello, I bought my daughter a 1990 RS with a V6 3.1 . I thought
it just needed a tune -up after a bunch of money and two shops
I have been told that the car has a blown head gasket the car has 90,000 miles on it and is really nice.
My question is this should I pay to have the gasket fixed and hope for the best ( my original complaint was it idled rough)
or should I suck it up and put a crate engine in it and have a car without any problems in the near future?..........THanks,Bob

If the question is whether to pay to have a head gasket fixed, or install a crate motor (yourself) I'd say the head gasket is the less risky route...if you can't do a head gasket yourself, an engine swap is likely beyond your capabilities.

I would say that the head gasket as well would be less expensive than a complete swap. Tell us... is there a "milkshake" on the oil dipstick when you check it? Considerable coolant loss? Overheating?
