non start 350

just built a 350 to replace my 305

i seem to remember having the problem 4 years ago in my trans am.

i have compression, i have spark i have fuel pressure, it doesnt start.

on thing ive noticed is that now the fuel pressure drops instead of holding for hours in the guage like it used to?

i have flames coming out of the headers every now and then and a backfire a few times

i believe its 180 out but the expert swears it not

i have gone through wiring multiple times and cant seem to find anything

any idea?

Is it carb or fuel injection? I would check just to make sure it's not 180 out. Pull the plugs and roll the motor over until you start to fell compression blow out of the number 1 spark plug hole then line the timing mark on the balancer with 0 on the timing tab. Then pull the dist cap and verify it's set in the number 1 positon if not pull the dist and set in in correctly. If the timing is set correctly and you have fuel and spark the car should fire up. Good luck with getting it running.
