350 or 400?
350 or 400?
I wasn't sure where else to put this, so if the moderators feel it necessary to move this post, please do so. Next year, I had planned to rebuild the 350 in my '89 Iroc. However, I bought a virgin bore 400sb about 6 months ago for the '88 I blew up last year. Well sold the '88 to a friend so he could have a ride. Now I have to make a decision, should I stay and build a decent 355? Or should I go with the 406? Reason I'm asking is I'm getting some money for selling the '88 and want to buy the heads before I blow the money on something else. Seeings how the heads are the most expensive item. Btw, if I build the 400, I have to buy the entire rotating assembly. All I have is the block itself. That goes for about $1500 at cheapest. Any suggestions and/or ideas are appreciated.

The 355 and the 400 are 2 entirely different motors.....how fast ya want to go? I say spend your money on the 400...or you will allways wished you had...

Does your IROC have the TPI on it, if your keeping the TPI injection it's not going to work well with the 400 unless you get a complete new intake system like a StealthRam, MiniRam or something like that.
Actaully I'm in the process of doing a HSR swap right now. I'm thinkin about adding exhaust and callin it good. Then spend money on the 400. Hit 13's with the 350 with intake and exhuast, I'll be happy for now.
