Hiding the Wiring?

Hey..

I know a few guys on this board (myself included) can't stand having a nice V8 in their cars, but you can't see it under all that wiring!!

Anyway, is there any way to get rid of this wiring? I don't mean tear it all out, I like having the CC cab and ignition, but juts hide all the hideous wiring.

I got them all over... running over the intake, across the valve covers, etc etc...

And my engine is now so nice with the 'cleaner' aluminum intake and blue painted 350. The problem is that most seem to be too short to just route behind the engine were they can't be seen. Any suggestions?

how bad is it? Im sure its not as bad as some of my brothers f-bodies. He jsut didnt give a damn about how many wires where on top of the engine. I have efi (less smog crap) and most people think its a non cc carburated car because the stock harness is neatly packaged 'as is' and its not real obvious. I guess you could buy the plastic sheathing and bundle all the wiring together to make it look a little cleaner. Thats what i did in some places because the previous owner pulled the wire harness apart.

I agree 100%. I just spent $200 and am getting ready to spend $200 more on powercoating and chrome work and I sure as hell don't want a bunch of wires hiding it. I am kind of lucky as I am doing a LT1 Swap so I have the perfect oppourtinuty to run the wires as I see fit. Via some small cutouts I am running the harness through the cowl, the inside of the drivers fender and in front of the radiator. Thanx to a Corvette wiring harness my nice powercoated ECM will be hiding the main harness coming out of the firewall and the smog pump is remote as the Vettes are mounted under the front not on the engine. I have also moved the battery to the drivers side and turned it around so all the hookups face the front of the car kind-of hid by the small overhang behind the headlights.

Well, mine really isn't as bad as a lot of engines I have seen, but Its still got butt-ugly wires covered in half melted plastic covering (especially the O2 sensor and fan switch wires)

I just wanna make try to get it as close to a bare engine as my cousin's '52 Flathead... it has about 3 wires and looks great without the wiring IMO.

Before, i wasn't really too concerned about it, but recently i repainted most of the engine with a nice Chevy blue, put on some really nice valve covers and have started to clean the aluminum intake, but the ugly wiring just hides my work!!

It is just a 4bbl with stripped emitions, so it isn't as bad as alot of the FI cars out there, but I really wanna hide this stuff. When my uncle and cousin wrapped most of the wiring after we got the engine in the car, he did a pretty good job of making it alot cleaner than it had been before, but I still don't like the look of any wires at all on the engine that aren't plug wires.
