350 HO TBI swappers...come on in
I've already ordered my 330 HP 350 HO engine, but I wanted to run the other items on my parts lists past you guys before I place my order with Summit Racing. My parts list is located at http://www13.brinkster.com/scbaeb/camaro/project.html, so please take a minute to look it over and let me know if I'm missing anything.
Here are a few questions for starters:
Here are a few questions for starters:
- I've seen some posts about needing a high-pressure fuel pump, but I haven't found any information about what to order.
- Do I have the correct knock sensor/ESC module listed? If not, what is the correct part #?
- Is the high-flow water pump necessary to cool this motor, or will the stock pump be OK?
- Should I also install poly motor mounts for stability?
- Do I need an EGR check valve? (JPrevost had it listed on his parts list)
- I still have tons of research to do regarding programming a new PROM for this combo, so I won't even bother about covering that yet

I didn't fit the description in your subject line, but I looked anyway.
Looks like a pretty good list. I don't know why you would need a high pressure fuel pump, but a higher volume pump may be in order. I don't know if the knock sensor stuff is the right p/n, but if the p/n is correct for the description, it's the right stuff. You shouldn't need a high flow water pump if the cooling system is up to snuff. Poly mounts are pretty good stuff, but not necessary. I don't know anything about an EGR check valve - perhaps PM JPrevost directly.
Don't use the synthetic immediately. If you do the GM-recommended break-in, you can go with synthetic at the last change (I'd recommend AMSOIL, of course).
