Interesting LT1 swaps

I know this may be a little off topic, but my friend and I have a chance at a cheap LT1 Caprice, we we're thinking a swap into and S10 would be really bitchin. what do you guys think? I also found a '79 Malibu with a bad tranny, but good body for $600. The Malibu is a V8 car. We weren't looking for a street car, just something to play with at the track. and cheap!!!! we're poor teenagers. Thanks for your opinions.

I'd go with the S-10 with some really big meats on the back for traction, drop in the LT-1 motor and a decent tranny/converter and hold on.

the S-10 is probably 800 lbs. lighter than the malibu.

But if it is a two door Malibu, you can get those puppies to really hook on the street. I have seen a few bumper draggers around here. Less weight is good, but traction is great, IMHO.
