Just A Quick Question
What kind of tranny is in the base model 1987 Firebird with the LB8 V6? I was wondering if I would have to change a lot of parts or just the mounts, frt springs, torque convertor, and maybe the rearend to put a stock 5.0 TPI in place of my ailing V6. Isn't the bellhousing an automatic trannys removable, or is that only for manual trannys? Someone online told me that the V6 is attached to the TH200, but I thought they stopped making those in the late seventies.

Car: 1991 Corvette Coupe
Engine: L98
Transmission: 700R4/4L60 same trans different name
you have a 700R4
there is no way to use that tranny with a V8 because you have a 60* V6 version................no GM automatics (except for the new 4L60E's) have a seperate bellhousing
t5 would be a different story
