So we're building the 350 when...
We notice that the Protopline Vortecs I bought have NO room to torque the bolts down, I mean, seriously...how the hell do you torque them down? Stud?

ALOT of heads will have that problem. It's mostly related to the springs. The larger the springs, the less room there is in between them for bolt heads.
Use washer-head bolts with a smaller 12-point drive, such as are available from ARP and others. Studs are not necessary, and can make the problem worse, since it's easier to make a small bolt head that works than a small nut that works.
