383 rotating assemblies?
I'm looking into building a 383. I'll be going into the GM ASEP program, so I'll be learning a lot about engines in a short amount of time. So, hopefully, I'll have most of the know-how to build this thing. I've got a 350 out of a '75 Monte Carlo to start with.
Anyway, I was thinking of just getting a balanced rotating assembly to take out some of the guess work.

I've found one here. So all I'll really need would be a cam, a dual-plane carb intake, and heads. I'm looking for all input and guidance.
I know there are tons of posts like this, but I'd like any input specific to this engine. Thanks,

It looks like a good assembly. I would check to see what the pistons are (dished, ft). I would use a Wieand X-celerator intake manifold (or Performer RPM). Use a good Holley 750cfm 4150 DP mech. sec. carb. For the heads I would go with AFR 195's, but if your budget does not allow Dart Iron Eagle's or Pro Topline heads should do the trick. As for the cam I'd use something with 230 or so duration and as much lift as you can get. It kind of depends on what heads you'll be getting. If you go with the AFR's then the Com Cams 286H would work well.

Does anyone have a setup like this, or had any dealings with these people?? Also, what's a good 383 thirdgen site....so i don't have to post a thread for every question of mine. Thanks,
