Beginning the swap...

Hey everyone, Im starting my 2.8 to 350 swap soon. Im going to make a full step-by-step tech article to submit with everything about how to do it. In the meantime Im driving my 92 Dodge Shadow :hail: Interesting car too.... 180,000 miles on it, been beat on to hell and back, sat for a year and a half... yet started right up... with a new battery of course. Dodge did something right back then. Well anyways, back to what I was saying. Im shopping around for a block now, found a complete carbed engine for $150 in very good condition, yet I really want a TPI. Any vendor offer carbed to TPI kits? Also bought a whole new interior for the car, its an 89 Firebird by the way. I think I should replace the clutch first though. I think Im going to keep the same V-6 transmission and rear, they're both fairly new. Can I use IROC springs on it? I found a nice pair of those too. Well I'll keep it updated with how things are going.

I hate to burst your bubble but, your V-6 tranny set-up won't fit on a V-8, considering that, the your best bet would be to find a V-8 donor car with the motor you want and pull the motor, tranny, wiring harness, computer and anything else you need to make the swap easier.

Its a T-5 tranny, it'll fit. Not an auto.

auto-manual doesn't matter, the bellhousing is different on a V-6 verses a V-8. you could find a V-8 bellhousing and switch it out for the one on your T-5 v-6 thats on there now. be warned, the T-5 v-8 bellhousing is getting hard to find with everybody doing that very popular swap.
