76 LT Camaro into my 82 Z
Anyone know much about 2nd generation Camaro's. Im buying a 75 Camaro with a complete 76 LT Drive train in it. It runs like a dog, but for 500$ it is a running car that I can drive until I can afford to build it up a little then to put into my 82 z-28. This thing has no emissions on it.
To the question, I want to put everything in my 82 z-28 with a th350. This has a saginaw 4 speed and a 10 bolt posi. I know the rears wil not bolt up, but can I get it to work? Also swapping out the th350 for the 4 speed manual.
Also one more thing, this 350 has a brand new performer rpm intake on it with some cheapo but okay dynomax headers. It runs extremely doggy, but i have a holley 600 going on for the qjet. The compression is really low, what all needs to be done before I put it into my Z to pep it up quite a bit. Im thinking some good flowing heads and raise the compression with a solid cam. What about boost, could these pistons handle a 75 shot pretty reliably for every other weekend or so if the engines in good shape, what about a couple t3's pushing 6-7lbs, thanks in advance.

The TH350 will require a kit to make it fit right.
To kick up the compression, either new flat top pistons (your 350's are dished) or some 305 heads. I'd also get some Hooker/Hedman/SLP 1.75" headers for it too.
You will probably wanna swap cams too.

The 4 speed probably won't work, because there is no torque arm mounting spot on it. Unless there is a kit, i'm not sure.

Will I be losing power by putting on some 305 heads, I still do have the heads from my 305. Ive heard this really livens up the low end, but kills the top end and my car will top out really fast?
What kind of kit to make the th350 work, I am thinking of just swapping motors right now and driving the camaro.

It depends on with heads you have on the 305. If they are the 416 or 081 castings, keep them, they are good heads. There may be others, I dunno, but post the numbers and someone will know.

Clutch linkage is a different matter. Need 3rd gen stuff.
