Harmonic Balancer Issue

Hi,
I am in the middle of a 305 to 350 swap and I am at a road block, hopefully I have stated my concerns properly below.

My 305 had a serpintine belt with a harmonic balancer that is thicker than the one on the new 350 and I would like to stay with the serpentine.

The timing brackets are also in a different spot the 305 it is in the center of the timing chain cover and the 350 is to the left hand side as you look directly at it.

I pulled the thicker balancer off of the 305 to put onto the 350
To give me the proper stack up for the belt. But the keyed notch puts it off by aproximatly an 1.5 inchs about the same distance the timing brackets are off.

Is the answer to this to this, just switch timing chain covers?

If not what is the answer and what should I be concerned about and looking out for?
Thanks,

Dale

Yep, switch timing covers and everything will work fine.

or buy an adjustable timing pointer... Summit and Jeg's sell them, Summit has them for $25, but they're only listed for ATI and Fluidampr's. I would imagine they'd work with a stock on though. You might give them a call and ask. The number's 1-800-230-3030
