What heads and cam would you guys recommend for a 383 rollercam engine? I am keeping the TPI system and changing over to a stealth ram or mini-ram. I have to keep fuel injection due to emissions laws here.

I want nice low end torque and streetablility. I would also like a smooth idle. Nothing to lopey. Just nice and smooth. Fuel economy isn't really an issue. I would also like to keep the engines compression low enough for a supercharger later on.

 

I would reccomend AFR 195's for the heads. They are exspensive, but well worth it. They make a lot of power. For the cam, I'd get a roller version (can't remeber the number off hand) of Comp Cam's XE268, or if that's a little wild for you a XE262.

 

Thanks. I figured on some sort of Comp Cams cam. But I wasn't sure on the heads. But as I understand engine building the heads and cam are where the power are made in your buildup.

Also on the heads, I shouldn't have to worry about accessory holes should I?
