305 tbi
I just bought a 1991 Camaro RS with a 305 TBI in it. The engine is smokin and needs rebuilt. I am only 15 and don't have much money. I would like to do a good overhaul though. I am going to do it myself since my grandpa has a big garage with a pit and a bunch of tools. My transmission also went out so that will cost money to. What should i do and about how much will it cost?

I dont know what your income situation is but It can cost any where from $500 to 1500 to rebuild depends on what you find on the inside! I have already invested 1100 in my 305! but the inside of mine had major issues! i had to have it bored and honed($212), i had the heads rebuilt ($415 for both heads) and i had to buy a crankshaft kit($480). If your lucky you can just get away with a hone job, a rering kit, and gaskets and put every think back toghter. my tranny is also shot but i am trying to pick up a used one for 200 to get my car back on the road
