alright a while back i posted about how i sold my rs (real slow) and got a basket case 89 iroc sans motor and trans and now i have finally gotten around to getting the money together to put an engine and trans in the car. i've already decided that a t56 from a 4th gen is going in and that will take care of the trans, but my question is what would you guys go with for an engine if you had a decision between a 355 built with forged crank, rods and pistons along with a set of unported afr 195's, holley stealth ram, and a xr276 cam. or the alternative a brand new ls-1 complete with everything cmputer harness all sensors. i was also thinking if i go with an ls-1 i could use a t-56 out of an ls1 car instead of the lt-1 t56. is it possible to use the latter 4th gen (ls-1) model transmissions in a 3rd gen? it my understanding that they are stronger? in either case im going to be buying a moser 12 bolt, and in the case of me building the afr/hsr i will be using the commnader 950 to control it all. well sorry for the long post but what would you guys do?
