have a ? about an engine
i was thinking of haveing my engine rebuilt say 355c.i. iron lightning heads 2.02/1.60 180cc, comp cams 218/228, stock tpi ported and gasket matched base and runners, ported plenum,1 5/8" hedman headers and 3" exhaust.
I allready have the following:
low temp fan switch,low temp thermostat,corvette servos,B&M shift kit,stock 3:27 gears,underdrive pulleys,air foil,ported upper plenum,home made cold air,throttle body coolant bypass,h.p. ignition,400 HP fuel pump,flowmaster exhaust,BBK AFPR,Hollowed out cat.
well my ? is what would my HP #s be? and what kinda 1/4 mile times would i be looking at in my GTA.

Oh, what say we call it about 260 net.
Might be a little better with aftermarket runners. The stock ones are going to knock the top off of the HP curve. MAF will be the other major limiting factor.
1/4 mile will be in the low 14 range, depending upon stall & traction.

Just the TPI is a restriction in itself. Even though the work you did on it will help somewhat, just the design of the TPI manifold cant feed a heavy breathing V8. Most people really struggle to make 300hp on a TPI engine. I'm not saying its not possible, just that its not easy (or cheap) to do.
I'd say five7 is probably right, 260-280hp sounds about right, and you'll probably run low 14s - high 13s

Yeah, he's about right on that number, 1987gt. That's why a lot of people switch to carbed because TPI is pretty restrictive unless you're getting a stealth ram or some other $$$$$$ piece of equipment.
