My 84 originally had a non high output 305 (LG4?)in it but then the previous owner has swapped a basically stock 350 with a Quadrajet on it. Now I want to begin the stages of my rebuild/build up of this engine. Want to spend really no more than 1500 and gunna keep the Q-jet as advised from a friend who really knows them. Now I'd really like to see about 320Hp. 350 would be nice but don't know about that much for that budget. I guess what I'm asking is what stuff should I be using in this engine to make that power for the 1500 bucks.

also to add my ideal power range is idle-5500 (edelbrock performer intake) i'm not building an all out drag car, i want a really bad *** street setup.

do you have to pass emmisions? visual inspections?

btw, DONT get the performer intake.. get either the RPM or a diffrent intake...

the performer intake really isnt any better then stock.... ive had bad luck with them in the past power wise....
