LS1 swap question
LS1 swap question
well it looks like i am getting a LS1 now. i can get a great price o one that used to run low 12's from a 98 forumla.
i can get the computer and everything with the engine with headers and intake and stuff + wiring too.
1: will i have to buy a harness, or can i make one from the two i would have (91 305tpi harness, and 98 formula LS1 harness)?
2: Do i need the LS1 tranny or can i use mine?
3: how long will my 10 bolt last?
4: would i need a bigger fuel pump?
any thing else that i need tht wouldn't be on either of those cars? i know i need to make custom mounts and crossmember mount?

1. You acn integrate the harness or buy one.
2. No, however 4L60E will require less computer reprogramming and is more flexible for tuning. ALso you will not have to fabricate a detent cable.
3. Not long if you are hard on it.
4. Yes. Walbro GSS340 in tank unit is great.
