wiring woes - engine swap
Ok guys, im almost done unhooking everythning to pull out my LO3, and im putting in a carbed 350. Now, I was looking at the wiring harness, it goes to the computer on the passenger side of the car, and on the right side, it plugs into relays and looks like where the fuse box is, on the other side of hte firewall.
Now I am hoping that I can get rid of most if not all of that harness, but how do I keep the interior, wipers, and other stuff powered and working correctly without that harness powering everything? Am I going to have to buy a new harness for this thing? I have read through what I could find on some search stuff, but I need more info.
I am going to only have the steering pump, the alternator (going to one wire alternator) and water pump on the front of the thing. Its going to be carbed, with a holley 750 CFM carb on it, and an HEI high powered distributor/coil. Thats about it
thanks alot guys, hope I explained enough.
cheers

Strip out what you don't need from the looms, you'll find most if not all of what isn't needed goes to the passenger side fender/kickpanel pass-through.
Without the computer, the steering pump function isn't going to have any effect (won't bother anything not having it).

I didn't say it wouldn't work, I said it wouldn't have any effect. All that does is lower the load on the pump when the engine is idling low - if the CC system is functioning. Your power steering will work fine in a non-CC setup. I was just saying that w/o CC, you don't "need" that part of the harness.

sorry it sounded like that. I was just confused as to what would be happening. So its basically not going to slow down the pump at idle. I see...but does that really matter/lessen the life noticeably?
So, I can take out most of the wiring. What about on the drivers side of the car, right near the wiper motor, where the wires go into the fuse box? I just run them to their respective parts of the car, and pull out the rest?
thanks alot for al your help!
cheers
