i have a 91 3.1 camaro ..i bought a 76 rebuilt 350 longblock without brackets and accessories..what parts can i use of the 3.1 ?can i use the power steering pump,alt anda/c. of the 3.1? do i have to stay with v belt or can i change it to a serpentine pulleys and brackets from a 80's 350? where do i start? thanks

 

only thing you can use from the 3.1 is the $$$ you get from selling it. Do a search here & in the V6 forum for those who already did this swap. Will also need a new tranny & tach if stock.

Are you sure that he can't use his accessories? I have always thought that a GM alternator is a GM alternator, a GM power steering pump is a GM powersteering pump and a GM a/c compressor is a GM a/c compressor.

 

He doesn't have any brackets for those accessories to fit a V8 engine.

 

He would have to get the brackets of course but the accesories should work.
