Can I do this????

I just got an 84 z28 with a 305,nothing special. Although I have a bunch of parts to put on it. I am just afraid of the computer. I want to get rid of it. I have a non computer controlled distributor, new intake and non comp. carb. Now if I put these parts on with out hacking up the wiring, do you think the car will still first start and run? Does the cpu affect the starting especailly if it detects alot of its connections no longer exist?
Thanks for the help

If you change to these parts you will have removed the computer completely. The only thing the computer controls is ignition and primary mixture for the carb. THat is it. Now it might startup and stall when you put the parts on but not because of the computer.
