ZZ4 cam in LT1?
I've got my dad building an LT1 with a ZZ4 cam. We were just going to carb it, but I'd like to stick with the LT1 F.I. setup. I assume I'm going to have to get a new chip to handle the cam? Any other recommendations? BTW its going in a 74 datsun 260z.

LT1's are programmed differently, no more chips to change, just a matter of getting someone with the software to plug into the PCM with a laptop.
As far as the cam, as far as I know its more of a carb cam, there are much better choices if you plan on keeping the EFI.

I called pcmforless.com and the guy that answered used to run the ZZ4 cam in his impala. He said I can send him the ecm and he'll mod it for me. The reason we are putting this cam in is because my dad already had it in his stock. I'm getting the complete setup minus fuel delivery for $632. Add another $350 for F.I., wiring harness, and pcm and I've got one hell of a daily driver.. specially since my Z weighs 2600 pounds

I know it can be programmed for it, I'm just saying its not the best cam for fuel injection, its more of a carb cam. But that is also just my opinion, so take it for what you will.
I'm also curious about the weight, thats pretty good.
