1991 firebird V6 swap
1991 firebird V6 swap
I own a 1991 firebird that I own, but the guy burned out the engine. I can buy another 3.1 V6 for it for only $500, but I want pure muscle power and there is a 350/440 HP V8 I can get for 3,000. I want to put that in, but I want to know EVERYTHING necessary to do b4 I do it. The engine is also carburetor injected, so I was wondering if I should keep it fuel injected or go with carburetor. I know I need a new tranny, and I already know which one I want, but I need to know where I can get a cheap posi rear-end 3.83 or lower. can anyone PLEASE tell me what I need to know

Keep it carbed. Simpler and cheaper to swap.
If you can't find a complete rear in a local junk yard. Try one of the sponsors of this site, like thirdgen resource. I found all the stuff I needed for a beefed up rear (including posi) on ebay for about $200.
