Does l98 have mech fuel pump lobe??

Ok, I've searched and searched and keep coming up with yes and no. Who knows for a fact that a 91Z L98 Engine has or does not have a mechanical fuel pump lobe? I am putting an L98 long block into a friends 85 Camaro(305) It has a mechanical fuel pump with a stock q-jet intake and a 600Holley.(yes its too big for the 305 but should be fine with the 350)

Problems... I'm sure I'll have to drill some of the intake holes because of the slight difference.

and I'm not completely sure the distributor gear will be compatible with the gear on the l98 cam.

Any suggestions on these areas?

PS. I have swapped many SBC's in the day. i dont need a step by step of the swap just the specifics which I stated above or any problems I will run into. Thanks a bunch................jt

my 1988 L98 has a fuel pump lobe. as for the dist gear you're 'supposed' to use a melonized steel gear. You can buy 'em at www.sdpc2000.com among other places. I ran a regular gear for over a year with a roller cam and had absolutely no wear on it when pulled but might as well be safe than sorry I guess.
