crazy combo

I have a 1984 LG4. I recently purchased the special calibrator chip and ecm that went the zz4 conversion kit for my particular engine [24502457]. My question is what if I bought the LM1 Goodwrench engine 8.5 to 1 compression ratio with dished pistons 1971-85 retrofit 350 and added a performer intake manifold and performer rpm heads and finally a cam profile similar to or identical to the zz4 would the timing and fuel be to much. I would buy the rpm heads because they have no emissions like the zz4 corvette heads. ok go ahead and laugh me out of the message board.

I didnt know you needed a chip to put a 350 into an original Lg4 car. My brother in law is running a 355 with the stock chip in his and it runs like a champ. I was told that all the computer controls in those cars is the timing, so you should be good with any mild 350, as long as it doesnt have a radical cam and compression higher than 9:5:1. It should work fine, but if your not on a tight budget I would just spring for the 350 ho that GM makes it would put out a hell of alot more power than the other engine. Good Luck.

If you're using the stock CC QJet then all the computer controls is the timing advance. A new chip would make the curve more agressive. You'll have to change rods (similar to jets in a holley) and set the AV tension to tune it to your motor. It's a good carb with some tuning.
