Oil cooler plumbing
I need to put an oil cooler on my S10 this winter. I was thinking of using a remote oil filter kit as well. I want to run oil out of the block at the filter boss, into the remote filter, out of that into the cooler, and out of the cooler back into the block at the filter boss. Has anyone ever seen it done this way? I am getting tired of watching oil temps go up and taking my left side header apart to change oil.
Thanks

Sweet. It will be great to stop worrying about oil temps. The temp was running between 220 and 240 last yr. I had to watch how I drove so that the temp wouldn't get too high. The only problem is that it is going to cost 155 bucks in AN lines and fittings (those 90 fittings are expensive).

My headers wrap right underneath the oil filter, so I don't want to use one of those sandwich things. That, and that sandwich thing is 80 bucks. I already have a relocation kit, but the hoses leaked like a mother and they were too short to go anywhere. I quit using it years ago, but didn't throw it away. Now I look at it and I see that the part that screws onto the oil filter boss is good and the new oil filter mount is good, the hoses just suck. I will replace the hoses with -08 line and route the lines differently than the first time. I need to use a lot of 90 degree fittings and 1/2 pipe to -08 adapters, that is why it got so expensive.
Thanks for all the tips
