breaks down and spends some money
I hooked up the power steering and trans cooler. The power steering pressure hose worked good with a little bending. I reworked the cooler in the return line so the end of it pointed back across the front of the car to the resevoir. I had some nice parker hose that's pretty much indestructable left over from another project. The Buick trans cooler lines have a rubber section, one was long enough to make it to the lower radiator fitting, I cut the other one off and extended it with the parker hose. I had some hose barbs that screwed into the cooler in the radiator for the other end of the hoses.

The T fitting I modified for the steam pipe on the back of the heads has a restrictor in it, I figured it was in there for a reason, that's why I modified this fitting instead of making something new.
The throttle cable is very important to me. I thought about using the buick cable but I saw the camaro cable entered the firewall at an angle and I wanted the cable to work without any drag so I swapped ends. The best way to cut the actual inner cable is with a small welding torch and just melt through it, this welds the end and keeps the cable from fraying. I got the end off the camaro cable by putting the cable in the vise and twisting it off. i got the end off the buick cable with a cutoff wheel by cutting it just past where it contacts the firewall Then the small piece leftover slid right off leaving a nice square end that slid into the buick end. I used some glue to hold it.
This is where I had to spend some money- I went to the hobby shop and bought some 3/32" wheel collars to use on the end of the cable. I took the part that was crimped onto the cable and cut the crimp off, then I used it behind the wheel collar so the whole mess seated in the retainer just like the stock one. The throttle works nice and smooth,
I searched all over the garage for something to make the O2 sensor mount, I found out it used a weird 18mm thread, I remembered where I saw this thread before and I had to break down and spend money again. $5
Is that cool or what!?!?!?! Cash outlay so far-
Engine- free, kept it from my wifes totaled RM, and I sold enough parts off the totaled car to make a few bucks.
Iroc- $700, sold the 305 that was in it for $500
JB Weld- $4
wheel collars- $2
anti foulers- $5
Next is the exhaust system, then the sensors, fuel lines, then it's time to wire the thing.
I think I'm flowing the water backwards through the radiator, I can't imagine this being a problem but I guess i'll find out soon enough.
So tell me what you all think. Am I getting my moneys worth?
Am I going to run into trouble for not being ****?

Well damn, my projects gonna be about $2600 total after I sell the 3.4 & tranny, and that includes price of the car & both engine swaps.
Intersting tip on the throttle cable, as I too will have to modify it some. (current one too short )
