305TBI to 305TPI

Can I take a 305 TBI engine and swap it to TPI by simply changing the wiring harness, intake, and computer? Basicly, is the block, heads, etc. the same for both engines?

I want to swap my 92' RS over to TPI but I am not ready to drop a 350 in yet.

Wait, after thinkin about it for a second, it depends on if u swap to MAF or speed density. MAF requires an airflow sensor, and speed density u can reuse the map sensor from your current tbi setup.
Whatever u do, swap out the **** poor tbi heads and cam.

Hey Cali92rs,

How much differerent are the tbi cam and heads compared to tpi heads and cam? I did a tpi swap onto a 1990 chevy caprice roller motor that was tbi. It has no power. Im almost to the point i wish I stayed with the carb.
