Digital Dash GTA with LT1 - Will Dash Work?

I did a search and only found one topic with nothing helpful so I figured i'd ask. I'm planning on getting an LT1/Auto trans and swapping into my 1988 GTA. And call me crazy but the only way i'm going to bother getting into this is if the digital dash will continue to work!

I've had many thirdgens and just when I thought i'd never get another i soptted the Digital Dash and I had to buy it. All I was wondering is if anyone has done the LT1 swap and gotten the digital dash to continue working? If not would I be able to wire it to continue working?

Thanks in advance!

I see no reason why it should not work. You may have to recalibrate it though. I would get a multi meter and take baseline readings and triangulate them with a external tach.

Once your LT1 is in repeat the process and go from there.

I am sure there is a diagnostic manual out there that provides the correct specs.

I figured there had to be a way I just wanted to make sure. I'd hate to have a dead digital dash. Now to hunt down an LT1 and read up on what i'll need to get it done. Future plans call for a large single turbo 396 LT1. I've been reading alot and it's what I really wanted to do to the car so now I can put the plans into motion.

Thanks again.

Thanks i'll need it! It may take a while. I'm goign to swap in a regular LT1 first and have a block built in the meantime.

Good luck with yours also! Sounds like a mean ride you got there. LS1's are fun aren't they?
