It don't look painless to me

I have a 89 trans-am which had a 305. I am replacing it with a
95 LT1. I purchased painless wire kit and new ECM for the LT1.
A local dude told me that I need to remove most of the wiring that went from the engine comparment to the old ECM.
I am not sure if that's what I need to do.
Help Please.

Yea you'll have to remove the old engine wiring system.
