LT1 Question

Hey I just go t a quick question. Sorry if I posted it in the wrong part of the boards but I don't think I did. I have found a Gm salvage yard in my city and I went online and checked out what they have. Well I found 3 LT1 for $1950. I was wondering is that a pretty good deal or a lil on the high side? I thought that the LT1 would go for about $1400 to maybe $2000. Just thought I could get some feed back on this. THanks for the help in advance

Depends on what comes with the engine. If it is complete, with harness, computer, accessories, and maybe the transmission too, then yeah its a good deal. If its just the engine, keep looking.

That is true....Well what I am going to have to do is call them up since they are right here in my town. It is saying complete so I am guess it comes with harness computer and accessories but im not sure about transmission that I will check on. Also what are somethings to look out for when going to a salavage yard to pick up some parts?

ok man just found out it is $1950 and it comes with the harness and everything need to do the swap. Also they have some LS1 and they are doing a package deal selling it for $3950. So now I must debate about it. Yet I think I will just go with the LT1 since I need to save some money for 3d animation school lol

1950 is way too much just for engine accessories and wiring + computer. You can find LT1's like that for $1000. I picked my 95 LT1 and tranny for $1950 and that included all bolts, old clutch, the works (minus the smog pump which I bought for $30 on car-parts.com). $1950 is way too much to pay for just an engine. In fact im sure you can find a LS1 for that price. I think 1500-1900 is the price range for the vette lt1's however.

Thanks for that info. That is why I like to come here before I make any big descision because I can get input from you guys who know your stuff. I would have to call to see if it is with the tranny. I will keep looking around though. I will go to my local pick n pull and see what I can find there. Also thanks for that info guys
