AFTERMARKET t-56 with LS1???

do any of you ls-1 guys know if you can use the aftermarket t-56 with an ls-1 or if you need a gm unit. i'm thinking of doing the
ls-1 swap and already have the aftermarket tremec unit. if different what parts would i need, or would i be better off just buying an 98-02 engine/trans/computer package and selling my current t-56.

the only difference i can think of is input shaft length. my current set up uses an adaptor plate to bolt on to the t-5 bell. possibly spline number. maybe their totally different. ls-1 uses some internal throw out bearing clutch release set up correct??

Your T-56 has to be specific for the LS1 setup because of the input shaft length.

If your adapter plate (between bellhousing & trans.) from the aftermarke unit is double drilled for "straight up T-10" and "canted T5" patterns, (most places offer the drilling as an option,) Lakewood makes a bell that would work.

But, your aftermarket T56 is worth more than an LS1 T56, and a comlete powertrain is always cheaper in the long run.
