Sensors

Ok, I had a quick question. My 83 TA has the sensors on the water neck for water temptature. Now my new engine does not have them, but i did notice that on the side of the drivers side head there is what looks to be a terminal for an electrical sensor. Well, it is a sensor, but is that my water temprature? If so, can i plug my stock wire into it, you know the one from the neck piece on the intake?
Thanks 4 any info.

On the intake manifold is the coolant temperature sensor (CTS). It has the environmental seal for the connector, and provides temp info to the computer.

The gage sending unit is located in the driver's side head. It runs the temp gage in the instrument panel.

If you are retaining computer controls, you need to swap over the CTS from the intake manifold of your existing engine, as well as the gage sending unit in the head.
