LT1 what do u think about this?
I have an 86z28 and might be getting a sister for it. It is a 93 camaro z28 with the Lt1 v8 wiht 55,000 miles. Well when we brought it to a mechanic he didnt warm it up and just drove, the car blew a little blue for like 3 blocks till it was warm and then stopped. Would a thinker oil stop this and should i still go for it?
I wouldn't. It sounds like its had the **** driven out of it with only 55,000 miles on it. I'd keep looking unless you are getting just an outrageous deal on it. Even then I'd be weary. If its blowing blue smoke now just for a few minutes, it won't be long till its blowing it all the time.

Car: 1991 RS Camaro (Jet Black)

Also, the 93 LT1's are inferior to the 95+. A lot of things were changed from then. Including the vented opti, I think they got bigger injectors, could be wrong on this but the 94+ dont have pink rods, numerous things.

Mod note: I'll let this live as long as it stays on a path that includes information useful to those considering an LT1 swap into a 3rd gen.
'93 is a particularly bad year for LT1s. They don't have the spiffy Delphi MAF sensor and bigger 24# injectors, just plain Speed Density and 22# pieces being fired in batch mode like a 3rd gen L98.
As the LT1 guys posted here, stick with the newer ones to make it worth the effort.
